Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Luang Prabang
Arrive at Luang Prabang International Airport. Transfer to your boutique heritage hotel. In the evening, explore the vibrant Hmong Night Market for local crafts and street food.
Day 2: Pak Ou Caves & Mekong Cruise
Embark on a traditional longtail boat upstream on the Mekong River. Visit the sacred Pak Ou Caves, filled with thousands of Buddha statues. Stop at local villages to see rice wine distillation and traditional weaving.
Day 3: Alms Giving & Kuang Si Falls
Wake up before dawn to witness the sacred Tak Bat (Alms Giving) ceremony. After breakfast, drive to the spectacular turquoise tiers of the Kuang Si Waterfalls. Visit the nearby Free the Bears rescue center.
Day 4: Temples & Phousi Hill Sunset
Tour the city's most beautiful temples, including Wat Xieng Thong and the former Royal Palace Museum. In the late afternoon, climb the 328 steps of Mount Phousi for a panoramic sunset over the city and rivers.
Day 5: Departure
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast by the river or rent a bicycle for a final ride around town before transferring to the airport for your onward flight.
