What is the best time to visit the Maldives? +
The best weather is between November and April during the dry season. The skies are clear, and the ocean is incredibly calm, perfect for snorkeling and diving. May to October is the wet season, which offers great discounts but comes with occasional rain showers.
Is the Maldives safe for families and kids? +
Absolutely! The Maldives is incredibly safe. Many of our curated resorts have dedicated Kids' Clubs, shallow lagoons for safe swimming, and family-sized villas. We highly recommend our "Family Water Villa Adventure" package for those traveling with children.
Resort Island vs Local Island: What's the difference? +
Resort Islands are private (one island, one resort) offering luxury overwater villas and alcohol. Local Islands (like Maafushi) are inhabited by Maldivian locals, offering budget guesthouses and authentic culture, but have strict laws (no alcohol, specific bikini beaches).
Do I need to carry USD or is INR accepted? +
INR is not widely accepted in the Maldives. You should carry US Dollars (USD) for tipping or small purchases. However, at resort islands, all your expenses (spa, extra drinks) are billed to your room, and you simply pay with an international Credit Card at checkout.
Are vegetarian and Indian food easily available? +
Yes! Since India is one of the top tourist markets for the Maldives, almost all 4 and 5-star resorts feature extensive vegetarian, vegan, and even Jain food options at their buffets, often with dedicated Indian chefs.
What is the baggage allowance for Seaplanes? +
Seaplanes have strict weight limits. Usually, the allowance is 20kg for checked baggage and 5kg for hand luggage per person. Excess baggage is charged per kg at the terminal and is subject to space availability on the flight.
